A paper on extreme classification by Marek Wydmuch, Kalina Jasinska, Michail Kuznetsov, Robert Busa-Fekete, and Krzysztof Dembczyński has been accepted for NIPS 2018. The arxiv version of the paper can be found here. The paper shows how to generalize in a theoretically justified way the popular hierarchical softmax to multi-label problems. The introduced algorithm achieves the state-of-the-art results on popular benchmarks for extreme multi-label classification.
